Ms Nyarai Patience Chibanda
Ms Nyarai Patience Chibanda is the current Chairperson of the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AFLIA) Academic and Public Libraries Committee. Her other current leadership roles include being the Chairperson of Zimbabwe University Libraries Consortium as well as its Conference Organisation Committee. Ms Chibanda has 18 years of experience in the higher education environment. She holds a master’s degree in Library and Information Science obtained from the National University of Science and Technology and is currently studying towards a PhD in Information Science with the University of Kwazulu Natal. Furthermore, Ms Chibanda is the Chairperson of the Zimbabwe University Libraries Consortium ICT Working Group and a member of the Zimbabwe Library Association (ZimLA)- National Executive Council and the Zimbabwe International Book Fair (ZIBF) General Council. She also sits in the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU) Council and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Gweru where she is still an active member. Her research interests are in the marketing of library services and use of Information Communication Technologies in libraries.
