National Assembly of Cameroon celebrates Mr. Alim Garga, Vice President of AfLIA

News in brief

Generating social capital for ones brand and organisation requires networking and building connections within the communities where one interacts and plays different professional and personal roles. Professionals, academic, special and public librarians gain social capital within their user communities through their work which is easily identifiable and has great potentials of attracting recognition and accolades. Parliamentary libraries serve lawmakers who are politicians with clout and far-reaching connections and may most likely not understand their need for library and information services, talk more of interacting with Librarians.

That is why recognition of the Librarian and AfLIA brand within a high ranking organisation such as a National Parliament of Cameroon is worth celebrating! On 9th July 2019, National Assembly of Cameroon organized a lunch in honour of Mr. Alim Garga following his election as the Vice President of the African Library & Information Associations and Institutions – AfLIA. In attendance were the Deputy Speaker, Clerk and all Directors of the National Assembly of Cameroon.
