11 SEPTEMBER, 2020
Dear Friends of AfLIA,
In the past few months, we’ve learned just how important little actions—from wearing a face mask regularly to washing our hands many times daily with soap under running water —truly are, in saving lives and sustaining the world.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, AfLIA has continued to provide the needed leadership, sustained relevant engagement with the African Library sector and facilitated several state-of-the-art continuous professional development and training opportunities ultimately geared towards empowering African librarians to continue helping their user communities achieve their full potential even in the midst of the pandemic, including information dissemination to stop the spread of the virus. Yes, these are some of the things AfLIA does and will continue to do to ensure that African librarians continue to be relevant during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond, so as to meet community needs.
With your support over the years, a lot has been accomplished and much more can be achieved with your continued support and encouragement by way of donations, no matter how little. We are inviting you to join us in a celebration of the power of these small acts of kindness for AfLIA’s Little by Little campaign on the GlobalGiving platform. This is a five-day crowdfunding campaign designed to take place from September 14-18, 2020. From Monday September 14, till Friday September 18, five straight days, ALL online donations up to $50 will be matched at 50%!
Prepare to donate to bring innovative libraries to over 100,000 Africans, including children. We depend on your generous donations to make great things happen in our communities. We cannot thank you enough in anticipation of your kind donations. Little by little means that no amount is too small to be recognised for a 50% matching funding. Get ready, only a few more days for the campaign to begin. We trust you will be in our boat to sail to success. Come on, let us sail together!!!!
Thank you
