AfLIA as the trusted voice and platform for the Library sector in Africa is exploring new avenues of engagements with Librarians. We aim to have interactions that will enable Librarians to gain more in-depth understanding of the roles that they can play in the society to change the world so to speak.
Frankly Speaking, a ‘Virtual Talk Show’ and ‘Marketplace of ideas’ will deal with burning issues in African LIS Sector and in the society as it applies to the practice of Library and Information science in the continent. A series of intriguing questions will be asked our Guests of the month on particular topics. Their responses will be shared on our different social media platforms and through other information channels.
Librarians will be encouraged to engage and Speak Frankly on what they think about the topic/situation and how it can be resolved, escalated or ignored. The discussions will take place simultaneously on every available platform. AfLIA would collate responses, publicize and work on viable responses and remedies.
Watch out and get ready to speak your mind!!
