This is a call for participation in the 2nd Cohort, Wikipedia in African Libraries course. The free course equips librarians, library staff, archivists, museum workers and others in the information sector with the ability to work collaboratively on Wikipedia and sister projects as digital platforms to ensure that the information there is accurate and reliable. Importantly, the training will enable these professionals to learn and understand how to help their user communities tell their stories by themselves about themselves, thereby giving them a voice and reducing the misinformation and disinformation about Africa.
This Cohort which will integrate lessons gleaned from Cohort 1, is scheduled to take off on Wednesday, 29th June 2021. Pre-Course orientation and introduction to the learning platform, Moodle, will hold on 21st and 22nd June, 2021.
Those who had applied for participation in Cohort 1 but were not absorbed due to space constraints are automatically admitted into Cohort 2.
