4th CARLIGH International Conference: Call for Papers and Posters

The Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Ghana (CARLIGH) is pleased to announce the 4th CARLIGH International  Conference of the Consortium which will be held at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Ghana from Monday 13th to Friday 17th July 2020.

The conference seeks to bring together researchers, faculty, librarians, ICT professionals, data analysts, publishers, book vendors and other industry players to deliberate on and share experiences in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and access to information. There shall be a two-day pre-conference workshop expected to expose participants to key issues around national policy formulation and inclusion of AI in information provision.

 

CONFERENCE THEME

“Enhancing information access through Artificial Intelligence”

SUB THEMES

  • Emerging creativity and innovations in promoting access to information.
  • Curriculum requirements to meet skill-sets needed for relevant Information Science education.
  • Trends and issues in higher education delivery in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
  • Exploring new skill-sets expected of information service providers and users.
  • Open access initiatives in ensuring free access to information.

 

CONFERENCE VENUE AND DATES

The Conference together with the pre-conference workshop will be held at the Conference Hall of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra, Ghana from Monday 13th to Friday 17th July, 2020.

 

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS FOR PAPERS

Proposals should address the theme and/or sub-themes, and should include the following:

1. Title of Proposed Paper

2. Name(s) of Speaker(s)

3. Speaker(s)’ Institutional Affiliation

4. Speaker(s)’ Email Address, Telephone/Fax Number(s)

5. Abstract of Proposed Paper (Not exceeding 500 Words)

6. Short Professional Profile of Speaker(s) (not exceeding 150 words)

 

Presenters are encouraged to ensure that papers submitted are original. Accepted papers will undergo peer-review processes and are expected to be published as conference proceedings.

 

LENGTH OF PAPER/ PRESENTATIONS

Papers should be 3,000 to 5,000 words long, submitted in word, using Times New Roman font style, 12pt font size, and double spaced. It must include an abstract and keywords. All presenters will be allowed twenty (20) minutes powerpoint presentations followed by five (5) minutes of questions/discussion.

 

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS

These are interactive presentations of research, innovative projects, or best practices, and should include the following:

1. Title of proposed poster

2. Name(s) of Speaker(s)

3. Speaker(s)’ Institutional Affiliation

4. Speaker(s)’ Email Address, Telephone/Fax Number(s)

5. Abstract of proposed paper (Not exceeding 500 words)

6. Short professional profile of speaker(s) (not exceeding 150 words)

 

Poster sizes

Posters should be equivalent of A1 (841mmx594mm, 33.1inx23.4in) or A2 (420mmx594mm, 16.53×23.39in).
